Mohanlal's 300th film: Snehaveedu
The actor-politician's 300th film is all set for release, a landmark moment in the history of cinema.
-
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal returns to the silver screen with Sathyan Anthikkad's Snehaveedu.
This highly anticipated movie marks Mohanlal's 300th film, a landmark event in the history of Indian cinema. Anthikkad was also the director of Mohanlal's 100th film, Pappan Priyappetta Pappan. -
Sathyan Anthikkad and Mohanlal have collaborated numerous times before, on films like Appunni (1984), Kaliyil Alpam Karyam (1984) and, more recently, Innathe Chinthavishayam (2008).
-
Sticking to tradition, Anthikkad announced the title of the film exactly 25 days before its release.
-
Snehaveedu, which roughly translates into "Loving Home" in English, is a family film made in Anthikkad's inimitable style.
-
It tells the story of a loving mother and son (played by actress Sheela and Mohanlal, respectively) and their deep attachment to their home.
The film also stars actress Padmapriya. -
Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for this film.
-
Antony Perumbavoor, whose banner Aashirvad Cinemas was founded in 2000 to produce Mohanlal's films, has produced Snehaveedu, as well.
-
Riding high on the success of their last film, Innathe Chinthavishayam being a blockbuster, Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikkad would hope Snehaveedu to be a biggie, as well.
