Much Fashion, Such Wow: 2015's Best-Dressed Bollywood Actresses

Fashionably speaking, 2015 has been a very stylish year, packed with dramatic red carpet outfits, chic off-duty looks and stunning festive ensembles. Here's a round-up of what 10 of Bollywood's best-dressed women wore this year.

Deepika Padukone: It was the year of Deepika in every way - she owned 2015 both on screen and off it, wearing elaborate sarees with the same ease as maxidresses. Deepika's fashion forwardness was on display not only in the favouring of brands and designers like & Other Stories and Saloni but also in the way she put outfits together - the sweater dress skirt experiment was particularly successful.

Kangana Ranaut: Kangana's instinct for picking a unique outfit almost never fails her and keeps her wardrobe fresh, unexpected and original. From her ethereal white Ralph & Russo ballgown at the Paris premiere of Queen to the pink Payal Khandwala sari with a blue blouse, Kangana proved she never has too try too hard.

Sonam Kapoor: The feathered dress at Cannes was a minor blip in Sonam's fashion year, which is never anything less than stellar. Her outfits of 2015 varied from traditional anarkalis to one-of-a-kind pieces only Sonam could look good in. Abu-Sandeep dressed her in a daring ruffled saree creation at Cannes and she wore a striped bustier-dress by Ulyana Sergeenko that most actresses would steer around to the Stardust Awards.

Alia Bhatt: Alia's wardrobe in her solo 2015 movie Shaandaar was both quirky and chic. Off-screen, Alia dressed much like her celluloid self. Her Diwali outfits - especially a standout lehenga by Sanjay Garg - and her collection of laidback but cute dresses made her a sight for sore eyes.

Kareena Kapoor: Kareena had just a small role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan but off-screen, she was a blockbuster. A series of Sabyasachi oufits served her well, as did a stunning black and silver Dev R Nil saree that she artfully wore with a vintage Christian Lacroix jacket instead of a regular choli.

Kalki Koechlin: Free fashion spirit Kalki picked a series of bohemian outfits to promote her film Margarita, With a Straw, accessorising her Anavila sari and Payal Khandwala maxidress with neckpieces as unconventional as she.

Karisma Kapoor: The other Kapoor sister hasn't been in a film since 2012's Dangerous Ishhq but that hasn't stopped her from making fabulous public appearances, mostly in intricate ethnic ensembles like white and gold sarees by Raw Mango and Sabyasachi.

Athiya Shetty: New kid on the block Athiya's film debut in Hero left several critics cold but her appearances off-screen had fashion pundits beaming. Her personal style is elegant and sophisticated, with outfits ranging from a forest green Sabyasachi pantsuit to a gossamer Anita Dongre lehenga.

Malaika Arora Khan: Malaika's fashion swag is, quite simply, to die for. The 42-year-old looked splendid in a Sanjay Garg ensemble at Diwali and equally lovely in high street outfits on vacation.

Jacqueline Fernandez: Jacqueline appeared in three films in 2015 - Bangistan, Brothers and Roy - but was a bigger hit on the red carpet and at various events in high fashion ensembles. The standout was a white, cut-out Cushnie Et Ochs dress.
