Jailed actor Sanjay Dutt came home on a month-long break from prison to a sizeable welcome committee comprising of his Bollywood friends. Among them was his Munna Bhai producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, pictured here with the actor and his wife Maanyata. Mr Dutt, 56, was granted a 30-day parole on August 26 for his daughter Iqra's nose surgery.

Mr Dutt was found guilty in 2013 of acquiring illegal weapons from those involved in the 1993 attacks in Mumbai. He was sentenced to six years in jail in 2007; he served 18 months but then was out on bail, fighting the conviction until a court in March 2013 ordered him back to jail in Pune.

Sanjay Dutt was sanctioned leave for a month by Pune's divisional commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh after he filed an application citing his wife Maanyata's illness.
"My wife has a tumour of the liver. There have been many cancer instances in my family. Doctors are investigating. Please pray for my wife. We will follow medical course after the investigation," he told the media. -
Hundreds of people gathered for a last glimpse of their beloved Munnabhai as Sanjay Dutt made his way to court to surrender in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.
Dressed in white, the actor had a tilak on his forehead, a sign of prayers offered at Mumbai's famous Siddhivinayak Temple.
