Aqib Khan will essay the role of the 13-year-old Sajid, the son of George 'Genghis' Khan (Om Puri). Singer-actor Ila Arun, will take on the role of Basheera Khan, George's first wife in Punjab.

In an attempt to transform young Sajid into a 'better' son, George sends him back to his first wife in Punjab.

Travelling back to Manchester in 1976, West is West is a coming of age film for both father and son, as they identify with different transgressions and form alternate perspectives.

Not long after, his second wife Ella, played by Linda Bassett, arrives with her little entourage to intervene and create further chaos.

But amidst all that traverses within the Khan parivaar, Genghis becomes aware of the fact that he still has a lot to learn at the age of 60.

According to sources, a third film on the family is in the pipeline already.

The film premiered in 2010 at the London and Toronto Film Festivals, and is due to release on Friday, June 10, 2011.
