Rajesh Khanna, Ramesh Sippy receive Padma honours

Actor Rajesh Khanna received his Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, today. The award was collected on his behalf by his wife Dimple Kapadia. Rajesh Khanna died on July 18 last year.

Director of landmark Bollywood film Sholay, Ramesh Sippy received the Padma Shri.

Comedian Jaspal Bhatti also received his Padma Bhushan posthumously today. He died in a road accident on October 25, 2012. He was beloved for golden age of Doordarshan era TV shows Ulta Pulta and Flop Show. Mr Bhatti's wife Savita collected his award.

Nana Patekar, who won the National Film Award for his roles in 1990 film Parinda and 1995 film Krantiveer, received Padma Shri at the ceremony from the President Pranab Mukherjee.
