Rakhi Sawant, the item girl, actress and perhaps now empress the of small screen who has managed to interest massive number of audiences, has had quite a rollercoaster ride in life. Here's a look at the adventurous life of Neeru Sawant who's known by the name Rakhi Sawant today.

Rakhi's mother is called Usha Sawant and her father whom she remembers for his fierce temper is an ACP with the Mumbai Police. Her brother Rakesh Sawant is looking to make his directorial debut in Bollywood while her sister is former actress Jaya Sawant. Rakhi revealed recently that at an early age she was responsible for the education of her siblings. Till today she shares a cold relationship with her parents whom she publicly disowned a few years ago and recently said she would never invite them to her wedding.

Very few people know that Rakhi made her debut in Bollywood with the flick Dil ka Sauda in 1999 that went unnoticed. But it was Chura liya hai tumne in which she played a supporting role, that gave Sawant a kickstart in the industry.

Glam girls Rakhi's raunchy dance moves in the superhit Pardesiya remix elevated her status to a star entertainer and fetched her many offers.

Rakhi moved on to do numerous short roles and item numbers in various films like Masti, Mai Hoon Naa, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena and 1920 to name a few.

The Mika birthday party controversy struck Rakhi hard and this incident kept her in the news for considerable time.

Rakhi later participated in the first season of Bigg Boss and the show made her the most wanted and most controversial actress for her daring and bold quotes.

It was also alleged that Sawant slapped her then beau Abhishek Awasthi on the dance reality show Nach Baliye as a publicity stunt.

The most recent move in Rakhi's life, Rakhi ka Swayamvar, her own reality show where the starlet chose the man of her dreams, has won a huge round of applause among audiences and hit record-breaking TRPs .

Rakhi may have chosen her Mr. Right in Elesh Parujanwala, but the item girl-turned-actress maintains that she won't say goodbye to Bollywood even after her marriage.
