We caught a fleeting glimpse of actor Ranbir Kapoor as he welcomed a guest to a party organised at his house on May 14. Ranbir is receiving rave reviews for his performance in Bombay Velvet which hit theatres on May 15. His friends from the film fraternity had given it a thumbs up even before it released.

Anushka Sharma, Ranbir's co-star in Bombay Velvet, looked ravishing in black.

Look who's here! Ranbir's father, actor Rishi Kapoor was also invited. Ranbir moved out of the Kapoors' Pali Hill bungalow a few months back to live with girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Arjun Kapoor was casual in denim and black.

Karan Johar, who stars as the villain in the film, was busy on the phone.

And of course, how could Ayan Mukerji, a close friend of Ranbir and KJo go uninvited?

Bombay Velvet director Anurag Kashyap seemed startled as he drove down to the venue.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is back to Mumbai after promoting her upcoming film Bombay Velvet with co-star Anushka Sharma in Goa, shared some candid moments from the trip on what seems to be his official Instagram account.

Coming Up: Anushka Sharma Celebrates Birthday With Team Bombay Velvet

Anushka Sharma, who will be seen in upcoming period film Bombay Velvet, celebrated her birthday with "the fab & super talented boys" of the film including Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap. She was also joined by actor Vivaan Shah and other friends at the party.

Before the close-knit party, they attended a special screening of Bombay Vevet with their filmi friends.

Anushka looked uber-chic in a maroon Nikhil Thampi dress, which she wore with tan sandals matching her belt. Ranbir looked dapper in semi-casual.

Actress Radhika Apte wore a green shirt-dress with blue pointed pumps.

Gauri Khan teamed her cargo pants with white tee and blazer.

Actress Aditi rao Hydari was casual in dhoti-pants and top, which she paired with kolhapuri chappals.

Anushka also celebrated her birthday with the press after the screening.

And quite happily too.

Karan, who will be seen in a negative role in the film, invited his mother Hiroo Johar to the screening.

Ranbir too invited his father, actor Rishi Kapoor. Recently, Mr Kapoor had said that he rarely likes Ranbir's films; however, his smile is proof enough of his approval.

Actress Ratna Pathak Shah attended the screening with her sons Vivaan and Imaad.

The 'Phantom' (Films) boys: Anurag Kashyap posed with Vikas Bahl, while Vikramaditya Matwane went for a solo shot.

The other 'Phantom', producer Madhu Maneta, came with his fiancee, designer Masaba Gupta.
