NDTV Imagine blended the concept of marriage with the hit formula of reality TV and they chose Bollywood's item girl Rakhi Sawant as their protagonist. Thanks to Rakhi and her histrionics, Rakhi Ka Swayamwar became the top grosser on small-screen of the year 2009.

Another reality show Sach Ka Saamna not only managed to create sensation in people's living rooms but in the High Court too. The revelations made by celebrities on the show disturbed their family life and the channel was issued warning notice by the High Court.
