Review in pics: Mogudu

He has his own set of likes and dislikes and he shows it clearly in all his films. His films are liked by family audiences as he is good at showing the virtues of a family and how a joint family with values is so much important more so in the present day material world. Let's see if Krishna Vamsi has continued this streak in his new film Mogudu.

Krishna Vamsi is unlike other directors. He never makes films following the current trend just to make some money.

He has his own set of likes and dislikes and he shows it clearly in all his films. His films are liked by family audiences as he is good at showing the virtues of a family and how a joint family with values is so much important more so in the present day material world. Let's see if Krishna Vamsi has continued this streak in his new film Mogudu.

Anjaneya Prasad (Rajendra Prasad) is a happy and contented man. He lives happily with his son Ram (Gopichand) three daughters, sons in law, and grandchildren in the same house.

However he has one wish unfulfilled, that is to see his son marry and settle down in life.
Ram is also very fond of his father and other family members. He keeps delaying marriage as he is apprehensive whether his wife will agree to live in a joint family.

Ram finally relents after he comes across Raja Rajeswari (Tapsee Pannu). She is the daughter of politician Chamundeshwari (Roja) and Naresh.
The marriage is fixed as it turns out that Naresh and Rajendra Prasad are actually childhood friends. The marriage takes place but even before the newlyweds can go home a small issue between the two families get blown out of proportion and the two families break up the marriage and part ways.

Ram and Rajeswari are naturally shocked and upset and to overcome their grief, each of them plans to go abroad for some time. In a coincidence the two of them head to the same place i.e. Mauritius.
The story takes an interesting turn as Ram meets an old friend Shradha Das, who is a model. She is also headed for Mauritius.

Shradha gets smitten by Ram and she wants to marry him even as Ram's marriage with Rajeswari is on the rocks.
But during their stay in Mauritius Ram and Rajeswari reconcile their differences and marry one again. They come back to India only to face the wrath of their respective families.

How they come out of the situation is what constitutes the rest of the film.

Gopichand is good both as a loving son as well as a lover and husband. He also gets to bash up a few bad guys a couple of times to please his fans. Tapsee Pannu is hot and she also does a good job in the acting department.
While Tapsee Pannu's dubbing is a bit loud, she must be appreciated for trying hard to get into the skin of her character.

Shradha Das is hot and at the same time also showcases her acting skills.
Rajendra Prasad excels in his role and proves that he can essay any type of character with ease. Roaj is appropriate as a headstrong politician.

Naresh fits the bill as a timid husband. Ahuthi is seen in a two minute role. The rest do their bit as required.
But the film's slow pace and erratic screenplay may act as a deterrent.

What may also go against the film is the mudslinging between the two families besides the tame and predictable ending.
The performance of the lead actors besides the film's music and its cinematography are its high points.
Mogudu is a film that shows the values of joint family, friendship, responsibility, love and affection.

But Krishna Vamsi succeeds only partly in his mission. The trademark Vamsi style and magic is missing in the film.

As a whole, Mogudu is a mixed bag and may leave Krishna Vamsi fans asking for more.
