Review in pics: Osthi
Mallika Sherawat is all set for the munni badnam moves in Osthi, the Tamil remake of Salman Khan's blockbuster Dabangg.
-
Cast: Silambarasan (Simbu), Richa Gangopadhyay and Sonu Sood
Credits: Director - Dharani, Music Director - Thaman S -
Director Dharani is turning out to be a master of remakes. After the success of Ghilli - which was inspired by the Telugu film Okkadu , Dharani remakes the superhit Hindi movie Dabangg as Osthi in Tamil.
-
Like Salman Khan in Dabangg, Simbu carries the movie on his shoulders and delivers his best.
-
Adding to Simbu's performance is Gopinath's colourful cinematography and S Thaman's foot-tapping music.
-
Coming to the story, Osthi Velan (Simbu) is a daring police officer, who likes to be referred to as Robin Hood. He has a step brother Balan (Jithan Ramesh), with whom he doesn't share a good relationship.
-
Neduvali (Richa Gangopadhyay) is the love interest of Velan in the movie.
-
Everything works fine till Boxer Daniel (Sonu Sood) enters the scene.
-
In this movie Simbu emerges to be a one-man army.
-
Richa Gangopadhyay is beautiful and performs well in her first Tamil film.
-
Sonu Sood is also good in the Tamil version. He was applauded in Dabangg too.
-
The stunts are the biggest highlight of the film, especially the climax fight between Simbu and Sonu Sood.
-
On the whole, Osthi is a commercial entertainer which is worth the money you spend in watching the film.
