The Telugu remake of the Bollywood hit Love Aaj Kal lives up to its pre-release hype. The movie was set to release in a record 1150 theatres across the globe today (April 14), creating a record in Tollywood.

The film is a treat for fans of Pawan Kalyan, often hailed as the Power Star of Telugu cinema.

Trisha plays the role that Deepika Padukone essayed in the original, while Kriti Kharbanda recreates the role played by Giselle Monteiro.

Like the Bollywood hit, the songs of the Telugu remake are already chartbusters.

While the story maintains the essence of Love Aaj Kal, it has been adapted to suit the image of its lead actors, particularly Pawan Kalyan.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan doesn't disappoint. He maintains comic timing and delivers his dialogues in perfect precision.

Trisha adds the touch of glamour as expected, but handles her emotional scenes adequately.

Kriti Kharbanda is attractive on the eye but could do with a refresher course on dialogue delivery and body language!

Others such as Tanikella Bharani, MS Narayana, Viswanath Kasi, Mukesh Rishi, Harish, Arundhati Aravind and Pragati did justice to their roles.

Unlike Love Aaj Kal, the director of Teen Maar chose to elevate the hero's character over that of his leading ladies.

Audiences are unlikely to appreciate a smattering of Italian spoken by Pawan Kalyan in the first half of the film!

The climax of the film is where the heart of the movie lies. Enjoy it!

The film lives up to its tag line of a 'celebration of love'.
