Here's how the story proceeds:
Bharathi (Genelia D-Souza), a television journalist, conducts sting operations against the corrupt. For this she earns the wrath of those in power and some of her colleagues get killed.
To end the menace, Bharathi creates an imaginary character called Velayudham, and claims him as her saviour.
Far away in a village called Pavunoor, liveS a milkman Velayudham (Vijay), who leads a happy life with his sister Kaveri (Saranya Mohan) and cousin Vaidehi (Hansika Motwani).
His life takes a wild turn when he comes to the city to arrange for money for his sister's wedding.
