Salman Khan, one of Bollywood's most popular actors, completes 25 years in the film industry today. His frst film, Biwi Ho To Aisi, released on August 22, 1988. A year later, Salman made it big in the blockbuster Maine Pyaar Kiya, the first of his many screen outings as Prem. We bring to you our top 10 Salman roles.

  • Dabangg (2010): Super cop Chulbul Pandey tops our list. With his bulging muscles, neat moustache, stylish aviators and witty one-liners, Salman became everyone's favourite law man.
  • Maine Pyar Kiya(1989): In his breakthrough role, Salman played the first of many Prems – this one, a young romantic who gives up his home and family for love. His performance earned Salman a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award.
  • Khamoshi (1996) : Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman's first collaboration starred the young Khan as the Hindu suitor of a Christian girl who has to win over her stern hearing and speech impaired father.
  • Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999): Another Sanjay Leela Bhansali classic, Salman starred as the musically inclined Sameer, in love with his guru's daughter, played by Aishwarya Rai.
  • Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994): Another outing as Prem, endearing himself to heroine Madhuri Dixit, and to us, with his lover-boy antics.
  • Ek Tha Tiger (2012): Salman's performance as the fierce and flamboyant RAW agent Tiger helped the movie fetch Rs 307 crores worldwide, second only to Aamir Khan's 3 idiots.
  • Andaz Apna Apna(1994): Salman showed off his comic chops as Prem, one of a pair of conmen looking to snag a rich wife.
  • Tere Naam (2003): One of Salman's most uncoventional and critically acclaimed roles, Radhe Mohan is a young man who loses his mind after being attacked by thugs. He recovers and sets out to find the girl he was in love with, only to discover that she committed suicide rather than be forced to marry someone else.
  • Judwaa (1997): In a double whammy, Salman played twins separated at birth - Prem, the rich dignified boy from America and Raja, the tough street tapori from Mumbai.
  • Bodyguard (2011): Salman's portrayal of the rough and tough Lovely Singh assigned to protect a rich man's daughter was dedicated to his real life bodyguard, Shera.
