Salman Khan's sister Alvira, along with Baba Siddiqui and the actor's legal team, reached the Bombay High Court on May 8, where the actor was granted bail after his conviction in the 2002 hit-and-run case. In its verdict on May 6, a Mumbai Sessions Court sentenced Salman to five years in jail. The actor was granted interim bail till today. The Bombay High Court has suspended his jail term, pending appeal.

Actor Salman Khan reached his residence on the evening of May 6 after being sentenced to five years in jail by a Mumbai Sessions Court for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The court convicted the 49-year-old actor for drunkenly driving over five pavement dwellers in 2002, killing one. He has been granted two days interim bail till May 8 by the Bombay High Court.
