Bollywood divas have always preferred to wear the nine yards fabric at award functions... A look at some of the divas who carried it with elan this year.
-
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Manish Malhotra: Aishwarya wore a sequined cream saree. Though not one of the best from her collection, she still managed to look pretty.
-
Vidya Balan, Sabyasachi: Vidya chose a plain black Sabyasachi saree with a stunning gold and red border. And the highly detailed neck piece takes the cake.
-
Preity Zinta, Manish Malhotra: We only wish she would wear sarees more often! After a long phase of no appearances Preity looks lovely in the maroonish net saree which goes perfectly with her glow.
-
Dia Mirza, Gaurav Gupta: Dia looked stunning in this concept saree and teamed it up with a unusual black net blouse. With a perfect face like that how could she go wrong.
-
Shriya Saran, Sabyasachi : The saree looks fab and very traditional with those earrings. If only she would've draped it better.
-
Rekha: We wish we could say something good about Rekha's entire look. But the saree is just tacky and loud. She could have definitely chosen one from her amazing wardrobe.
-
Eesha Narang: Not very flattering outfits generally, but then here Eesha with husband Timmy Narang looks surprisingly good in this white and gold not a very over the top saree, with just the right amount of jewellery.
-
Poonam Dhillon: We're not very big fans of Poonam's dressing sense anyway. However, she doesn't look bad in this green and pink bordered saree.
-
Claudia Ciesla: Nothing very fancy here, the Bigg Boss participant chose a floral green and blue saree looking as simple as she could.
-
Mini Mathur: Television Host Mini looked elegant in a white saree. She should've draped the saree better and ofcourse the sloppy posture.
-
Aarti Chhabria: May not be the best saree ever, but that's all we could expect from Aarti. She could lose the ugly blingy clutch though.
-
Anuradha Paudwal: Playback singer Anuradha looked like a pseudo Rekha in a golden saree with a zari border.
-
Alka Yagnik: She chose to be risk free and wore a red-black net saree for this years' Filmfare Awards.
-
Rekha Bhardwaj: Singer and Vishal Bhardwaj's wife was a simpleton in a red saree with no unnecessary accessorising.
-
Aishwarya Rai, Sabyasachi ,2009: Ash could give all actresses a run for their money in this stunning Sabyasachi gold black saree with a best actress nomination in her kitty.

-

-
Deepika Padukone, 2009: The host for the evening Deepika chose designers Rabani and Rakha and wore a gorgeous peach saree with chandelier earrings.
-
Bipasha Basu, Sabyasachi ,2009: Bips did a great job with another black saree teaming it up with hot pink bikini blouse, onyx earrings by Gili and her trademark bangles.
-
Kareena kapoor, Manish Malhotra ,2009: It's hard to say what made this Manish Malhotra sheer net embellished saree famous, the wardrobe malfunction or the saree itself
-
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Manish Malhotra, 2011 nominations: Ash's mid-night blue stunner didn't surprise anyone. That's all she's been wearing off late!

-
Kajol, Manish Malhotra ,2010: Best actress nominee for My Name Is Khan, Mrs Devgn looked beautiful as ever in another Manish Malhotra creation.
-
Rani Mukherjee, 2006: The reigning queen of that decade, Rani sure knew how to hold the throne, her sarees are always a treat for the sore eye.
-
Kalki Koechlin, Preeti S Kapoor ,2010: Dev D girl is now all grown up and so adorably in a Preeti S Kapoor cream saree, she hid a chinese inspired blouse under it.

-
Minissha Lamba, 2007: Minissha chose a bright red saree to walk the red carpet and did so gracefully
