Shweta Tiwari Wins Bigg Boss 4

After a gruelling 14 weeks in the House, Shweta Tiwari proved she rules the small screen by winning Bigg Boss 4 – the first woman to do so. Shweta's ex-husband, Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary, was runner up on season 2 of the show

Salman Khan congratulated Shweta Tiwari on her victory.

"I have won because of your love. I am very happy," she said to the audience after being announced the winner.

She took home a trophy and a cash prize of a crore

An overwhelmed and emotional Shweta, dressed in a fuschia-coloured sari, burst into tears after seeing her daughter and mother when she came on to the stage.

Once TV's favourite bahu in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Shweta Tiwari made it to the winning post past finalists WWE wrestler The Great Khali, actor Ashmit Patel and Dolly Bindra, infamous for her colorful language and bizarre behaviour.

Though the decision was based on viewers' votes, Shweta's inmates like Samir Soni, Manoj Tiwari and Aanchal Kumar felt she was most deserving owing to her patience in dealing with the verbal fights with loud mouthed co-participant Dolly, who walked away as the third runner up.

During her stay in the house, Shweta was active in the household chores and her behaviour was cool and composed throughout the show.

Khali was declared the first runner up.

The grand finale saw performances by Sara Khan, Veena Malik, Aanchal Kumar and Manoj Tiwari.

The only contender who didn't seem too pleased with the verdict was Dolly, who had incessant verbal fights with Shweta almost throughout the show's 14-week run.

Salman Khan was his usual suave and engaging self.

Ashmit was the second runner-up.

Ashmit said he shared a good bond with Shweta, and that the award was well deserved.

Veena Malik and Aanchal Kumar are dressed to kill in jewel tones and bling.

Aanchal Kumar, who looked stunning in her outfit, cheered for Shweta Tiwari.

"I share a very good relationship with Shweta. When she had her problem with Dolly, I was the first one to stand for her. I took her inside to speak to her and it is there that she told me she will never forget my gesture. At that time she told me she wanted me to win, and even today, she told me she wanted me to win. But I am very happy for her. She deserved it," said Ashmit.

Actor-model Sameer Soni received a Chevrolet Cruze as a special prize for being the boldest and most stylish participant of this season.

Bigg Boss 4 started with 14 contestants, and had two wild card entries in subsequent weeks, with a three-day guest appearance by Hollywood actress Pamela Anderson. The show was quite full of controversies throughout its run, but kept the audience entertained.

Runner-up Khali congratulating Tiwari said, "I am happy for her. She was really nice at the Bigg Boss house."

Season 5 of the popular reality show is not even at the talks stage yet but celebrity astrologer Bejan Daruwalla has already predicted a return for Salman as host.

When the show host, Salman asked him who will win the show, Daruwalla said: "I see there is a tough competition between Shweta Tiwari and Dolly Bindra."

Then he laughed and quickly added: "But I can see that you (Salman) will host the next season as well."
