Shah Rukh seemed to be so excited that his Twitter status stated, "NASDAQ will be fun. Have to make sure I reach on time, otherwise will end up being blamed for economic up heavel across the world too..ha ha."

This is the first time that Indian stars were invited to ring the opening bell for the exchange as an act of promotion for their upcoming film My Name Is Khan.

According to a NASDAQ spokesman, SRK and Kajol rang the bell on behalf of Fox Searchlight Pictures, which is distributing the film in the US market.

With over 3,700 companies listed, the NASDAQ has more trading volume than any other stock market in the world.

Speaking exclusively to NDTV, both Shah Rukh and Kajol say they feel saddened by the Shiv Sena protest on the IPL issue.

Shah Rukh says, "It's unfortunate, unhealthy and undemocratic. It's highly insensitive."

The movie, also starring Jimmy Shergill and Tanay Chheda, will be released on February 12 worldwide and will also premiere at the 60th annual Berlin International Film Festival during the week of its release.
