The movie is shot in the picturesque locales of London, Ladakh and Kashmir. Kashmir is a favourite Yash Chopra location but it was the first time Shah Rukh Khan was visiting the Valley.
Anushka Sharma reportedly plays a documentary filmmaker in the movie. It will be the second time that SRK and Anushka have been paired up after their last movie, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which was also Anushka's debut.
The name of the film was a well-kept secret which generated a lot of hype in the media. Finally on September 11, 2012, the title Jab Tak Hai Jaan was revealed.
