Sunny Sunny Girl Evelyn Sharma Turns 28

Evelyn Sharma may have not reached the peaks of her popularity yet but she does turn heads whenever she appears on screen or off it. The actress has only appeared in a handful of films yet but she has already made a mark with her screen presence and surely is here to stay.

As she turns 28 today, here's a pictorial journey through her life and career.

Evelyn Lakshmi Sharma was born on July 12, 1986 in Frankfurt, Germany to an Indian mother and German father.

Her tryst with showbiz began while she was pursuing her business studies in UK. She began modelling for cosmetic brands in England before turning to films.

She made her film debut at the age of 20, in 2006, with an English film Turn Left. She continued modelling after that.

Six years later in 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with Prateek Chakravorty's From Sydney With Love. She played an Australian girl in the film.

She then played a character named 'Sita Devi' in 2013's Nautanki Saala alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunal Roy Kapur. Her role in the film was appreciated though the film didn't find much success.

Career altering moment for her would be 2013's superhit Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani where she played the pretty, yet slightly dumb, Lara. Her scenes with Ranbir gave her instant recognition among the audiences who were smitten by her beauty and yet laughed along with her histrionics. Her third film in 2013 was Issaq which tanked at the box office.

She was next seen in the film Yaariyan which released in early 2014. The film's song ABCD and Sunny Sunny featuring Evelyn were chartbusters. The film did average business.

Evelyn was last seen in David Dhawan's Main Tera Hero where her character was lost in the media blitzkrieg surrounding the two leading ladies Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D'Cruz.
