William and Kate chose the music in keeping with the theme of British and classic. Composers included Englishman John Rutter and Welshman Hubert Parry. William also chose Jerusalem to honour his love of rugby and country. Kate chose Greensleeves, as a famous piece of English music. As a tribute to the late Princess Diana, the service started with the hymn Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer which had been the final hymn at Diana's funeral

Prince William will not wear a wedding ring, but his new wife's will be made of Welsh gold given to the prince by the Queen. Kate's wedding band was created by Wartski.
According to tradition, the Welsh gold for royal rings comes from the Clogau St David's mine at Bontddu in North Wales. -
Prince William and Catherine Middleton have written their own prayer: "God our Father, we thank you for our families; for the love that we share and for the joy of our marriage. In the busyness of each day keep our eyes fixed on what is real and important in life and help us to be generous with our time and love and energy. Strengthened by our union help us to serve and comfort those who suffer. We ask this in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Amen."

The Dean of Westminster conducted the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury married Prince William and Miss Middleton, and the Bishop of London - a personal friend of the Prince of Wales who has known Prince William for many years - gave the address.
