Top 10 Famous On-Off relationships

Here is a look at top 10 famous On-Off relationships

  • Sinead O'Connor-Barry Herridge: The Nothing Compares 2 U singer's lovelife has careered wildly ever since she married drugs therapist Herridge in December 2011. The newlyweds broke up just 16 days after their quickie Las Vegas wedding, only to reconcile a few days later, separate again, and reconcile a second time - all within days. The seesaw of events was played out very publicly on Twitter, with a series of confessional and no halds barred posts from Sinead O'Connor, the latest of which reads: "Yay. My sweet husband is coming home. Very happy girl. Must get pretty-fied by 8pm. Thank u God. Me love me sweet husband so bad. Yay!! :) "Sorry if too much info or too personal.. Just.. Me so happy. Wus sad without him. Love him rotten bad. So me all happy now.. Hurray!!!(sic)"
  • Jude Law–Sienna Miller: Britain's one time It Couple dissolved in a flood of recriminations in 2005 as Jude was revealed to have cheated on Sienna with his children's nanny in a month long affair. He apologized publicly and profusely but to little effect and Sienna exited the engagement with as much dignity as she could muster. In 2009, they were back in each other's arms and wedding bells seemed to be in the offing, again. In 2011, it was over. But have they really laid their romance to rest for good? Not if their recent joint appearance at a funeral is anything to go by.
  • Pamela Anderson-Tommy Lee: Baywatch star Pamela married Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee on February 19, 1995. Two sons and three years later, she finally divorced him amid allegations of domestic abuse - having filed for divorce twice before reconciling - but just couldn't seem to wash him out of her long blonde hair. They reunited briefly after Lee finished the jail term he was serving for kicking Pamela. In 2008, 10 years after they divorced, they were back together and living as a family. That was also to pass, and they have since dated other people. But never say never.
  • Elizabeth Taylor-Richard Burton: Theirs was Hollywood's great love story, and it flickered on and off for years. Liz Taylor was to marry seven men in her lifetime, but none so famous as actor Richard Burton with whom she fell in love on the sets of Cleopatra. He was husband number five - and six. They were married for 10 stormy years, from 1964 to 1974. Sixteen months after they divorced, they remarried, this time in Botswana, only to divorce again a few months later. Burton said of their reunion: "You can't keep clapping a couple of sticks (of dynamite) together without expecting them to blow up." Taylor married three more times and died in March 2011. Burton married two more times and died in 1984.
  • Justin Timberlake-Cameron Diaz & Justin Timberlake-Jessica Biel: Justin and Cameron's three year romance started when they met in 2003 at an awards show, and spent a good part of those years either ignoring or denying breakup rumours that regularly appeared in the press. In 2006, they officially split, in the wake of a rumoured Justin-Scarlett Johansson affair. In 2007, more rumours surfaced, linking Justin to Jessica Biel - and this time, they turned out to be true. In 2011, they had broken up, amid more rumours of Justin hooking up with Olivia Munn and Mila Kunis. But this story does have a happy ending. Just a few months after breaking up, Justin and Jessica were back together and are now engaged.
  • Jennifer Aniston-John Mayer: The musician was Jennifer's first high profile boyfriend after her divorce and the infamous Pitt-Jolie coupling. The F.R.I.E.N.D.S actress and Mayer began dating in 2008 but it was mostly always rocky, largely thanks to his habit of making intimate and often uncomplimentary comments about Jennifer to the press. They broke up, then reconciled, went to the Oscars together, and then broke up again. This time, for good. Mayer proved once and for all that he was no gentleman by sending Jennifer a text that read, simply: "That's it - the end."
  • Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy: Kate Middleto may have been the Royal girlfriend who officially landed her Prince, but Chelsy Davy was the one who had always caught the public imagination. Zimbabwe-born Chelsy met Prince Harry when he was on his gap year and dated for the next six years. The relationship was fraught with breakup rumours mostly due to Harry's reputation as a party animal and a ladies' man. Free spirited Chelsy was rarely spotted at public occasions with her Prince - most notably at Royal cousin Peter Phillips' wedding where she was introduced to the Queen. Despite an official break up, Chelsy seemed to be a presence who couldn't be ignored and sparked reunion rumours with an appearance at William and Kate's wedding on April 29, 2011. Thus far, however, the couple have remained resolutely apart and Harry has been linked to a fair number of women - among them, Pippa Middleton and actress Florence Brudenell-Bruce.
  • Leonardo DiCaprio-Gisele Bundchen & Leonardo DiCaprio-Bar Refaeli : That Leonardo DiCaprio likes supermodels is now a mere biographical detail. Most famously, he dated Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bundchen, for four tempestuous years. Gisele previously dumped Leo a few months after they first started dating but was wooed back with flowers, presents and apologies. But Leo found his roving eye a hard habit to break, and they were done for good in 2005. He moved on to Israeli model Bar Refaeli the next year, broke up for six months in 2009, and then again for good last year. Bar was compared to Gisele for a large part of the relationship, even by Leo's mother who made no secret of her fondness for her son's previous girlfriend.
  • Lindsay Lohan-Samantha Ronson: Troubled actress Lindsay drew gasps when she began dating DJ Samantha Ronson in 2008 and though their on again off again relationship spanned three years, it was nearly always rocky. They broke up twice over rumours of Lindsay flirting publicly with men (including Russell Brand). Samantha was said to want Lindsay out of her life for good, many times over but that seemed unlikely after Lindsay moved into the building Samantha lived in and then followed her across town to a new apartment. Samantha has finally been allowed to move on but does still show up at her ex-girlfriend's court hearings to provide a measure of support.
  • Orlando Bloom-Kate Bosworth: Orlando Bloom found himself catapulted from relative obscurity to dizzying fame after starring in The Lord Of The Rings and Pirates Of The Caribbean series. He also landed a hot girlfriend in the shapely form of Kate Bosworth in 2002. They dated for the next four years, on and off, before finally splitting for good in 2006. The breakup was blamed on Orlando's hard partying habits and Kate later said that he was her "first big heartbreak."
