Women in action movies are more often than not damsels in distress or gangster's molls. But then again, there's Ellen Ripley from Alien and Sarah Connor from the Terminator series. These feisty femmes prove that they can match the men bullet for bullet, and look way hotter doing it.

Angelia Jolie: Angie is our top gun slinging chica for the sheer number of action heroine roles she's played. She pulled out the arsenal as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, a sexy assassin in Wanted and housewife-by-day-hit girl-by-night Jane Smith in Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Uma Thurman: In the unforgettable opening sequence of blood drenched Kill Bill Volume 1, a vengeful Uma Thurman, aka the Bride, goes 'bang bang' with her gun.

Lucy Liu: Cameron was the sporty one, Drew was the goofy one, but Lucy was the Angel you really had to watch out for. With fists of fury and guns blazing, this Angel meant business.
