5 Dr Kalam Photos Tweeted By Rashtrapati Bhavan

A day after thousands paid their respects to former President APJ Abdul Kalam, rare photos of the noted scientist remembered fondly as People's President, were released on Twitter by President Pranab Mukherjee and the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Dr Kalam died on Monday after he suffered a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at IIM-Shillong. He was 83.

President Kalam was the 11th President of India and served between 2002 and 2007.
President Kalam was popular among children and frequently hosted youngsters at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
In 1997, five years before he became President, the noted scientist received India's highest civilian honour the Bharat Ratna from then President KR Narayanan.

President Kalam's boyhood dream of becoming a fighter pilot was finally realised in 2006, when he became India's first Head of State to fly in a Sukhoi MK30I.
