5-year-old boy falls in borewell

It has been more than 24 hours now, yet a 5-year-old boy lies unconscious at the bottom of a 150-feet deep borewell in Jagatpura village near Jaipur. 5-year old Sahil was playing with his sister when he fell in the borewell near his house.

  • This is not the first time a child has accidently fallen into a borewell. In July 2006, a 5-year-old boy named Prince was rescued from a 2-and a half feet in diameter, 60-foot deep borewell when he fell down while playing near it in his village in Haryana. The rescue then had lasted over 48 hours and was aided by Armymen who miraculously managed to pull Prince out.<br>
 
Although 2-year-old Sonu was not so lucky. In October 2009, Sonu fell into a 150-feet borewell in his village near Agra. Even though authorities launched a massive effort to rescue him, unfourtunately, he could not be saved. (NDTV photo)
