In Uttar Pradesh, the state with most Lok Sabha seats (80), the party announced that its leader Kumar Vishwas will take on Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. Mr Vishwas has already announced his battle against Mr Gandhi and has been campaigning aggressively in Amethi.

In Delhi, journalist-turned-politician and AAP leader Ashutosh will take on Union minister Kapil Sibal for the Chandni Chowk seat.

AAP's Mukul Tripathi will take on Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid in Farrukhabad.
