Air France Flight 447 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, killing all 228 on board.

People looked at arrival boards at the Terminal 2E after the Air France jet dropped off radar over the Atlantic ocean off the Brazilian coast, at the Charles-de-Gaulle airport in Roissy, northern suburb of Paris. Air traffic control lost contact with the flight after it took off from Rio de Janeiro. Air France Flight 447, which was heading from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, plunged into the Atlantic Ocean on June 1, 2009. The accident claimed 228 lives. (AFP)
