A passenger train collided with a goods train near Penneconda in Andhra Pradesh. -
The collision occurred at around 3 in the morning when the Hampi Express, travelling from Hubli to Bangalore, rammed a stationary goods train near near Penneconda. -
As a result of the collision, two coaches of the Hampi Express derailed and caught fire. -
Several people are still said to be trapped inside the damaged coaches. -
The cause of accident has not yet been established, a railway spokesperson said. -
Rescuers are now using metal cutters to get inside the bogies where the passengers are stuck. They fear finding more charred bodies near the entry and exit passage -
The timely information helped the police reach the site quickly. However, the fire made it difficult for them to begin rescue efforts. -
The engine and the first three coaches of the Hampi Express have been badly affected due to the collision. -
The exact number of trapped people is not known yet, but efforts are on in full force to bring them out safely.
