Anna to head to Ralegan Siddhi today

After his much-hyped three-day fast in Mumbai came to an abrupt end yesterday, anti-graft activist Anna Hazare will be heading to his hometown in Ralegan Siddhi today.

Anna has now officially broken his fast. He is on stage with Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, among others from the team.

So ends Anna's fourth fast of the year. The next round of agitation will take place in the five states bound for polls. The jail bharo andolan has also been called off for the moment and Team Anna will now plan their strategy for the next round.

He said: "I planned to fast for three days but actually my fast started four days ago. But I have seen the current picture and I have decided to end the fast today."

Anna Hazare has finally appeared on stage. Doctors have advised him to discontinue the fast, saying they fear dehydration may lead to kidney failure.

In their latest health bulletin on Anna Hazare, doctors say he should discontinue fasting. They are worried it may lead to kidney failure. The 74-year-old activist is on the second day of his three-day fast in Mumbai.

People are trickling into MMRDA Ground but the numbers are still thin. This could be because Anna Hazare has not taken the stage yet. There is no word on when he is expected on the dais, if at all.

Doctors from Breach Candy Hospital examined Anna. "He is weak, his blood pressure drops when he stands up, his heart sounds a little distant," they said.
