Assembly Elections 2017: Preparations In Full Swing In UP, Uttarakhand
Campaigning in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand has reached its peak with star candidates travelling the length and breadth of the states to reach out to the voters. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was in Uttarkhand on Sunday garnering support for the BJP candidates. The day before, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley released the BJP manifesto in the hill state. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi addressed their first formal joint rally in Kanpur yesterday. The Samajwadi Party and the Congress had sealed their alliance exactly a week ago. Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati was also not behind in launching roadshows and campaign drives to seek support of the voters.
