• Mayawati: The day's biggest loser, Mayawati, is a poor second in UP, with her BSP unable to touch even 100 seats despite a 27 per cent vote share. This resounding defeat was preceded by an Election Commission directive that saw all statues of Mayawati and elephants, the BSP symbol, covered up to prevent voters being influenced.
