Banega Swachh India Cleanathon: Clean Up Drives Across India
As part of the 12-hour Banega Swachh India Cleanathon, clean up drives are being organized in many cities across India, including a clean-up of the Yamuna at Kudsia Ghat in Delhi, at Assi Ghat in Varanasi, and at Marina beach in Chennai.

The Ugly Indian, a group of anonymous volunteers, can be seen painting areas in Bengaluru in an effort to not only make the city cleaner but also more aesthetically pleasing. Amitabh Bachchan applauded their effort, and said: "We shouldn't wait for acknowledgement and just go out and do what needs to be done".

Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation has adopted 45 railway stations all over India on a request from the Railway Minister, Shri Suresh Prabhu as part of the 'Swachh Rail - Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. During the Cleanathon, almost 500 volunteers gathered to clean up the Dadar Station in Mumbai.
