Best Moments From Justice For Every Child 5-Hour Telethon
Justice for Every Child is a campaign by Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation and NDTV to support child victims of sexual abuse and rape who are fighting for justice in court. As a part of the campaign, a 5-hour special telethon was organised, where experts, social workers and celebrities came together to discuss on how together the community can help protect the future of India - children.

Talking to NDTV about the overall aim of the campaign and the five-hour telethon, Mr Satyarthi added, 'The message is to save our children and we need to save our society. We are taking this campaign global, the use of child pornography and sexual abuse are beyond the borders. This is a problem worldwide.'

Actor Taapsee Pannu also supported #Justice4EveryChild Telethon and said 'We need to impart education about Child Sexual Abuse, we have to go beyond our textbooks and impart awareness in our society. Talking about sexual abuse is still a taboo in our society and we need to overcome it.'

Kalki Koechlin, Actor also joined the 5-hour telethon and highlighted the importance of educating adults on child sexual abuse issues. She said, 'Adults need education about how to recognise abuse and also given the support to deal with the signs and symptoms of the abuse once it is identified.'

NR Narayana Murthy, Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Infosys at the #Justice4EveryChild telethon urged people to be the part of the campaign and said, 'I believe that every Indian citizen is an important part of the Justice For Every Child campaign and they should do their bit.'

At the 5-Hour telethon, Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director, Bajaj Finserv said, 'It is important that justice is delivered to every victim. It will also prevent crime for many other hundreds. Hence we believe that Justice For Every Child is a very significant initiative, and we have been very happy to support it.'

Usha Uthup, Singer supported the cause of Justice For Every Child campaign and sang an inspiring song to encourage people to come out and report crimes against children and not cover up. She said, 'Everyone needs to open up and start talking about the issues of child sexual abuse'

Joining the #Justice4EveryChild telethon from Kolkata, Ananya Chakraborti, Chairperson, West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights and Saira Shah Halim, Communist Party of India (Marxist) MLA candidate and Rights Activist highlighted why it is important for the families to come out and report the crime against children, as that is the first step that is going to help not only in punishing the culprits but also in preventing such heinous crimes going forward.

Kamna Chhibber, Head, Mental Health, Department of Mental Health and Behavourial Sciences, Fortis Healthcare supported the #Justice4EveryChild telethon and highlighted the importance of mental health well being for children especially those who have gone through tough times or some kind of sexual abuse.

'We give children the least importance when they should be the most important, in terms of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) matters,' said Sangeeta Beniwal, Chairperson, Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights as she joined the Justice For Every Child telethon.
