SurferSpeak: Maithili - Is the AAM AADMI interested in a strike? who are these politicians to decide this? they represent the people but are these "people" ever asked what they want? did the politicians think that the people are affected more by these strikes?

SurferSpeak: A.S. Khan - Indians need to wake up and try to understand that subsidies are like a floating device that is best dumped when one has learned to swim. Too bad the opposition does not have the wisdom to explain this to their people. The bandh is not voluntary(most small businesses were threatened with violence) and has caused more losses to the common man than good.

SurferSpeak: Rohan Bhatt - The political system is such that it does not listen to you till your voice is strong. At least it has precipitated at level it matters. Do you have other practical solution which our system would listen to if at other end Billions are at stake??
Abhishek replied to Rohan Bhatt - i think a bandh was the only way for this useless Government to wake up to note. Many people have stayed @ home and the seemingly empty streets of Mumbai are testament to that fact the people/common man support this bandh.

SurferSpeak: Rajeev Tatkar - To think that bandhs serve any purpose at all is giving them a credit which is not their due. Bandhs succeed only because the general public is too wary of hooligans and the fact that the government does not have the guts to stop them. Has any bandh led to any improvement in anybody's life except those of the politicians? We need politicians who work for people not against them.

SurferSpeak: Anish Augustine - BJP does best whatever best it can! Had they put some brains into thinking for a better India, we would have had a solution to combat issues like price rise in a better and logical way... 'Band' for sure is not close to any solution! It just jeopardizes the lives of us, common man. How does it affect the life of the real perpetrators? BJP just has a habit of making an issue out of nothing. That is what they do best. That is how they thrive, the little they do...

SurferSpeak: MR - 467 million labor force (2009 estimate)in India stopped working on the name of Bandh which acounts for 23 billion rs (50 rs/day). Don't you think only a fool can do this? rising prices is certainly a burden on common man. but bandh is not a solution. It sends wrong message to the world that India is not a business friendly state. Opposition parties can raise the issue in parliament and they can discuss in a civilized manner (Oops! I forgot which never happens in India).

SurferSpeak: Karthik - If the price rise punched the common man once, the bandh call is a follow up punch to make sure the common man is surely suffering... do these big parties even understand the plight of daily wage earners ??? do they even care that millions might go hungry because of these meaningless bandhs. If BJP and other opposition parties believe they genuinely are fighting for the common man's cause, why not go on a hunger strike instead of bringing the whole nation to a standstill using force ?

SurferSpeak: Sanjay - All the opponent of the bandh must suggest an alternative to raise our voices against price rise. Government is not ready to listen to the grievances of the common man and desperate situation requires desperate measures.

SurferSpeak: VT - The govt is run by an economist who is world renowned for his knowledge in that. So I believe this price rise will have a positive impact on the economy. Why can't people rely more on public transport than burning their own fuel and pockets and adding to the pollution and traffic. Whatever, Bandh is a just a gimmick by the opposition. As if they never bring any price rises during their rule
VENKAT replied to VT - yes I agree. this is just a stunt go get into headlines for a few days. they have no solution or suggestion

SurferSpeak: Ajay - Is there any other way? This is the only democratic way of showing the impact of aam aadmi. Everyone can debate on the opposition of this bandh but nobody can provide any other solution. This should be taken in a positive manner and prices should be controlled.

SurferSpeak: Sanjay Vaish - I do strongly support this bandh if no violence & unwarranted incident happen.. I personally feel that this is not the right time to raise prices of oil..it could be done later when food prices would have been under control.. I myself am a student and my cost of living, even on a sub standard basis, has incresed by minimum of Rs 1000 in last 3to 4 months... I think government should hear our voices and act upon.
