Big names join hands with Arvind Kejriwal's AAP

Of late, giving the AAP a boost are not so aam aadmis. Senior journalist Ashutosh, dancer Mallika Sarabhai, top banker Meera Sanyal, Captain Gopinath who created Air Deccan, Infosys board member V Balakrishnan and singer Remo Fernandez have joined the AAP movement.

Former Infosys Director V Balakrishnan joined AAP on January 1. "They (AAP) have revolutionised politics in this country, I'm fascinated with it," he said.

Former Royal Bank of Scotland CEO Meera Sanyal was another big major recruit for AAP. Though her joining was not a big surprise; she campaigned extensively for Arvind Kejriwal's party in the run-up to the Delhi elections.
This week AAP gained another high-profile entrant in Ashutosh, a leading face of Indian television who quit as editor of a news network today. "I never thought politics was clean. AAP has given a new vision," he said. Read more
Dancer-activist Mallika Sarabhai has announced she is joining Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party as a "foot soldier." "I have worked a lot with Arvind (Kejriwal). My values match with his Aam Aadmi Party," she said. Read more

Captain GR Gopinath, who founded Air Deccan and is considered a pioneer in the low-cost airline sector, also joined hands with AAP. He said, the party has given a new dimension to politics and shown that elections can be fought and won without money, muscle and caste backing. Read more
Pop singer Remo Fernandez also joined AAP, saying no political party has inspired him except AAP. The singer is expected to lead AAP's campaign in Goa ahead for the Lok Sabha elections.
