Celebrating Gudi Padwa
The day marked the beginning of the nine-day "Navratri" festival. " Gudi Padwa" and "Ugadi" - New Year's Day - for the people of the Deccan region were also celebrated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the people, as various festivals were celebrated across the Country.
