  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi who condoled the demise of Sheila Dikshit, said she made a noteworthy contribution to Delhi's development. "Condolences to her family and supporters. Om Shanti," PM Modi tweeted.
  • Sheila Dikshit was serving as the Delhi Congress chief, a charge she took over in January this year, ahead of the national elections. She had contested the Lok Sabha elections from North East Delhi constituency, but lost to the BJP's Manoj Tiwari.
  • Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "Sheila Dikshit Ji loved me, whatever she did for Delhi and the country, people will remember it. She was a big leader of party, her contribution towards party, politics of nation and especially to Delhi, is immense."
  • Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also condoled the demise of his predecessor and said Ms Dikshit's contribution will always be remembered.
