Cyclone Nisarga: Mumbai Escapes Worst Cyclone In Decades, Other Top Stories

Coronavirus-hit Mumbai has escaped the worst of the severe cyclonic storm Nisarga - the second to strike India in two weeks - with rain stopping and wind speeds reducing drastically. No damage has been reported from the financial capital where movement of people was restricted in public places like beaches, parks and promenades along the coastline till today afternoon.

Nisarga, the first severe cyclone to impact Mumbai in more than 60 years, largely spared India's financial capital on Wednesday as the severe cyclonic storm weakened after its landfall south of the city, claiming no major damages or loss of life in the region.

India and China will hold military-level talks in Ladakh on Saturday, June 6, amid the border standoff between the militaries of the two countries near eastern Ladakh. The talks have been requested by India and will be held in the Indian Border Point Meeting hut in Chushul-Moldo.
There appears to be some breakthrough in the stand-off between India and China at Ladakh before the crucial high level military talks on Saturday, with reports suggesting that both armies have retreated from one of the flash point in the Galwan Valley.
