Delhi rains: T3 flooded
Delhi received record-breaking spell of rain today, exposing the city's drainage system and the hi-tech Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The rain led to clogging and overflowing of the drains near the Arrivals area of T3; excess water spilled into the domestic arrivals area.

In three hours, the capital recorded 117 mm of rain - in the entire month of September, usually, Delhi receives 128 mm of rain - a record since 1959.
At least one flight was diverted to Jaipur and four others scheduled to land between 2.15 and 3.15 pm were asked to make a "go-around." -
Water-logging on the arrival side of the airport harrowed passengers which led the airport operator to arrange the delivery of their baggage on the conveyor belts at the international side as a precautionary measure.

The return of rains to Delhi after a gap of six days, when the city recorded 96.1 mm of showers between 4 am and 5:30 pm that day, also brought back water-logging and resulting traffic problems to the city.

Vehicular movement was slow and long queues of cars and buses were seen in some areas of the city.

There were also reports of crawling traffic on MB road near IGNOU, Dhaula Kuan, Kirbi Place, Rani Jhansi road near Filmistan and Palam flyover from Dwarka to domestic airport side. Water-logging was reported on Rohtak road in Anand Parbat Industrial Area also.
