After serving as long distance communicator for royalty, commoners to love struck hopefuls and hopeless, for centuries, I was relegated to history books.
Humans took on the task themselves and did it faster than what my wings could ever hope to achieve.
Postcards and Postman replaced me and brought a human touch to the proceedings.

Telegrams reduced the distance between people and far-flung near and dear ones. That hurrah lasted almost 163 years! Now only 42 years old, email jostles to justify its existence.
In a world of social media and zillions of chat services at people's fingertips, seconds is all it takes to reach out to people on the other end of the planet.
Technology has given wings to people, now that can't be so bad. It has brought them closer to one another than ever before. As for me, I exist, free as a bird seeing the world zip past me into the future.
