Well-known south Indian film personalities are supporting Anna Hazare's demand for a strong anti-corruption bill, with actor Nagarjuna urging the people to support the Gandhian "for a brighter India".

As news of the Lok Sabha adopting Anna's resolution poured in, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher took to Twitter to express his views.

Superstar Rajinikanth has come out strongly in support of Anna Hazare and his campaign for an effective Jan Lokpal Bill. India Against Corruption (IAC) today released a statement from the superstar in Chennai.
"I wholeheartedly support the IAC movement in their campaign to get the Jan Lokpal Bill legislated in Parliament. I'm very happy that we have a very able and dedicated leader in Anna Hazare to lead the fight against corruption," the superstar, hailed as the Thalaivar by many, said.
"I congratulate all the Indians who have lent their support to this bloodless revolution! This kind of peaceful movement is possible only in India which is the birthplace of Satyagraha," the superstar added. -
After legendary actor Rajinikanth put his weight behind Anna Hazare, superstar Suriya too has expressed his support for him.
The actor joined the token fast in Chennai to support Anna, whose fast entered the eighth day today.
"(It is) Wonderful to see the movement against corruption. We should not let the momentum die. Jan Lokpal makes lots of sense. Sustainability is important," he said. "I take a pledge to not bribe anyone for anything," the actor added. -
Actor Bhagyashree joined a group of Anna supporters in Chicago and posted this image saying: "Young Anna Hazare at Chicago. People thronged to support for @janlokpal." She further tweeted: "Support for Anna Hazare unbelievable. Yeh hein Sahi Kranti ki Shurvat."

Film personalities across India have shown their support for social-activist Anna Hazare. Telugu and Tamil film actor Nagarjuna was the latest, urging the people to support the Gandhian "for a brighter India".

In protest against Anna Hazare's arrest, a huge crowd gathered at at the Azad Maidan in Mumbai, on Tuesday (August 16) afternoon.
They joined singer-composer Vishal Dadlani, as he sang Yeh desh hai veer jawaano ka and Rang de Basanti, while others shouted Vande Mataram and Inquilab zindabad . -
Vishal, who wore a black ribbon, like many protesters, said: "Till Hazare is not let free, and till he doesn't win the movement, I will keep this band on my wrist."
Condemning Hazare's arrest, Vishal said: "Why would the government stop this protest? If they are stopping this movement against corruption, it just shows who they are. It is a non-violent way of protest and everyone can do it. "I am not here as a representative of Bollywood. It is my individual expression in support of Hazare's movement." -

As support for Anna Hazare poured in for the second day today in Jharkhand, Team India Captain M S Dhoni's elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni, pitched in for the social activist saying his demand for a strong Lokpal Bill should be accepted by the Centre in its totality.
"The Jan Lokpal Bill has to be brought immediately. I am supporting Anna with an open mind like any other citizen of the country," Narendra Singh Dhoni said. (PTI) -
Mahatma Gandhi's Private Secretary, nonagenarian V Kalyanam, has lent his support to Anna Hazare's followers in Chennai. On Tuesday, Mr Kalyanam joined a group of protestors in Chennai to express solidarity with the fight against corruption.
Today (August 17) a large number of people in Chennai observed a fast in support of Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign. For the second day today, Mr Kalyanam was present at the site to lend his support to the cause.
