A coach of the Chennai-bound Tamil Nadu Express caught fire early on Monday morning. According to Additional DG, Railways, 32 people have died in the incident while several others have been injured.

At 4:28 am this morning when the train passed Nellore station, the deputy station master reportedly noticed the fire in the S-11 (Sleeper) coach of the train and brought it to a halt. Passengers were evacuated immediately.

The injured have been taken to the Nellore civic hospital.

Rescuers have detached the coach of fire from the rest of the train.
