First pics: Blast in Lahore

A car laden with explosives rammed a government building here on Monday, killing at least eight people, leaving 45 injured and heavily damaging the building. Many more casualties are feared as people are believed to be trapped under the rubble.

  • Pakistani media reports said the injured had been moved to Jinnah Hospital and Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore. Injuries sustained in the blast were serious. Police were quoted as saying around 70 people were present at the time of the blast and many were feared trapped.(AFP Photo)
  • Reports said a car laden with 600kg of explosives rammed the Federal Investigative Agency building, causing a 17-foot crater as an impact of the blast. Neighbouring buildings were also affected.
