FLOTUS, Michelle Obama Ducks The Limelight
Michelle Obama in her second visit to India maintained a rather low profile, as President Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi grabbed all the headlines.
-
The First Lady, Michelle Obama landed in Delhi's Palam Airport wearing a light blue outfit with floral patterns, by designer of Indian origin, Bibhu Mohapatra.
From the airport she accompanied President Obama to the hotel and then to the surprise of many, skipped the grand ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan and also the visit to Rajghat. -
Oh, My Love for Florals: After the airport, the first outing in India for the First Lady was the State Dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening.
Michelle Obama was seen wearing a stark navy blue billowy dress with red and white flowers. -
Florals get a break: The Republic Day parade, where President Obama was the chief guest, was the only time Michelle Obama was seen sans the floral look.
She decided to go for a simple black coat and red scarf to keep the damp and cold weather at bay. -
Spring is in the air: For the 'at-home' reception hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan's famous Mughal Gardens, FLOTUS decided to wear an elegant but floral print again, this time the shade was pastel with a matching short coat.
Unlike last time she was in India, Michelle Obama this time stayed away from the limelight. She didn't have any engagements or public interaction of her own. -
Little Black Dress: The First Lady was back to sporting flower patterns at the Town Hall in Siri Fort auditorium, New Delhi.
During the Town Hall, Barack Obama confessed to the audience, "Michelle is a better dancer than I am. Sometimes this hurts my feelings." -
Barack Obama compliments Michelle: POTUS during Town Hall in Siri Fort said, "You may have noticed I am married to a very strong and talented woman. Michelle is not afraid to tell me when I am wrong, which happens frequently."
