Germany's Love Parade : The tragic adieu

The Love Parade is a popular electronic dance music festival that originated in Berlin in 1989.

Over the years it gained huge popularity and every year drew hundreds of people. However, on July 24 a stampede that broke out at the venue, marred the festival killing many. (AFP Photo).

The stampede hit the revellers when a large number of people were caught inside a tunnel leading up to the festival venue.

The Memorial Day brought many to the spot, friends and family members of those who died in the pandemonium placed wreaths and lit candles.
