Highlights of the 6-Hour Support My School Telethon

The NDTV Coca-Cola Support My School Telethon raised over Rs 20 crore to meet its mission of revitalising 1000 schools. Campaign ambassador Sourav Ganguly and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh joined the Telethon to raise funds and help spread education. Here are the highlights of the Telethon which included insightful discussions on how to improve the Indian education scenario; cricket, Dada's style; and a lot fun and entertainment with Ranveer Singh leaving no opportunity to showcase his dance moves.

The 6-hour Support My School Telethon started off with a special performance by Ability Unlimited. Here's a glimpse of the extraordinary performance by some of our differently-abled Indian heroes.

From cover drives to straight drives to lofted sixes, the Telethon is where all the action was. Sourav Ganguly also interacted with a few students and coached them.
Ranveer Singh confidently said that he'll be able to hit a six on Sourav Ganguly's ball. Sadly, he couldn't.
Host Vikram Chandra also tried his hand at cricket.

Sourav Ganguly was also on the receiving end of some training. Ranveer Singh made him groove to a song from his movie Ram Leela.
Ranveer and Sourav also danced with the differently-abled children.
Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and Zarina Screwvala, the Founder and Managing Trustee of Swades Foundation, voice their take on the Indian education system. "Schools need to be proud of their facilities, and that's only possible if they're valued and maintained", they both echoed.

Actor Sonali Bendre did her bit for the society by donating Rs 5,00,000 to the campaign. She also joined the discussion on the importance of education and said that it all starts at home. "What do I bring to the table as a parent? I want to teach my child to be a compassionate human being who can give back to the society", she added.
Hussain Kuwajerwala danced to all songs that Ranveer Singh has starred in, and they both shook a leg together as well.
Ranveer Singh and Sourav Ganguly played football with the three girls from Ranchi who're junior state-level football players. Until the Support My School campaign intervened, they had no access to any sports facilities in their school.
