"Howdy, Modi!" In Houston - 50,000 People At Largest-Ever Event For Foreign Elected Leader On US Soil

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Houston on Saturday ahead of the mega "Howdy, Modi!" event, received a warm welcome at the airport where several Indian and US officials met him.

  • More than 50,000 Indian-Americans have registered for the "Howdy, Modi!" event, the largest-ever gathering of this minority but effluent ethnic community in the US.
  • The event will be attended by as many as 50,000 people at the NRG Stadium in Texas. The organisers - Texas India Forum - have billed it as the largest-ever turnout for a foreign elected leader on US soil.
