Are we as Indians just bad on the road and if so, do we need to have a better road safety education programme? Is weak enforcement of traffic laws and a poor penalty system making this problem endemic and when can the country expect to get a set of safety norms which are stringent? All this was discussed in a panel discussion, which was carried out to observe the Road Safety Week as part of NDTV's Road To Safety campaign.
Students from the Indian School of Management And Entrepreneurship also attended the Road Safety Week panel discussion on adopting safer road practices and why India needs to take a multi-pronged approach to tackle the crisis of road safety.

Writer Anil Dharker and Dean of ISME Indu Shahani discussed why it is important to include Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training in school curriculums and how important is the first hour in taking an accident survivor to the hospital.
Abanti Sankaranarayanan, Chief Strategy & Corporate Affair Officer, Diageo India elaborated on the impact of the Road To Safety campaign and how it has been motivating the people across the country to take the #NeverDrinkAndDrive pledge.
Amitesh Kumar, Jt. Commissioner, Mumbai Traffic Police discussed about the impact of the CCTV challan system, the use of technology to nab errant motorists, and why the traffic police departments across the country are understaffed.
