In Pics: Schools Across India Planted Saplings For A Greener Future

A group of 24 students from the Welhams Boys' School Dehradun school participated in the plantation drive for the Behtar India Campaign at Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation (HESCO) in village Shuklapur, Dehradun.

Students along with staff members of BGS National Public School planted saplings in the surrounding, in an effort to make India a greener place to stay.

Students of Welham Boys' School planted a total of 250 saplings as part of the third and last stage of the campaign named Behtar Vatavaran (Environment). The focus of this leg is to sensitise the masses about the need to protect the environment.

As part of the Behtar India campaign, the students of L.R.S.D.A.V Sr Secondary Model School, Abohar, Punjab, conducted a tree plantation drive and raised awareness among the people to plant more trees for a greener tomorrow.

As part of the Behtar India campaign, the principal of Farooq High School For Girls conducted a tree plantation drive for two days, and urged all the students to plant more for a greener tomorrow.

Around 43 students along with staff members of Vidya Vikas Academy, Goa, planted saplings on a barren area designated by forest officials at Balli, Goa.

As part of the plantation drive, the students of Ryan International School were sent to a nearby Resident welfare Association to sensitise people about making India a greener place to stay. Notably, the school planted a total of 2247 saplings last year.

Students of Birla High School decided to turn the area in and around their school into a green zone. As part of this exercise, students planted saplings and the joy in their hearts at creating a Behtar Vatavaran is evident in the smiles on their faces. The little ones of Nursery also planted saplings with the help of students of Classes IV and V.

As part of the Behtar India Campaign, the students of Delhi Public School cleaned the land which had lot of unwanted plants. After cleaning, mango saplings were planted by the students.

Seen here are students and teachers of Indirapuram Public School, Pratap Vihar, Ghaziabad, planting saplings in a vast area. Along with this activity to plant saplings, the students also conveyed a message that trees are jewels of nature and essence of life on Earth.

Students of Lexicon International School carried out the plantation drive at the cantonment area in Pune. They were supported by the Army officials who also applauded the school for its efforts towards a Greener India, Behtar India.

Students of Sri Chaitanya High School along with their family members, planted 70 saplings as part of the third and last stage of the Behtar India campaign named Behtar Vatavaran (Environment).

Students of Ridge Valley School actively participated in Behtar India Campaign and planted 300 saplings.

Seen here are the 11th grade students of Pathways High School, Gurgaon, who as a part of Behtar India campaign conducted a plantation drive at Wazirabad. About 250 species of the Aravalis; Goya Khai, Gundi, Bistendo and Adusa were planted.

Students along with staff members of Translam Academy International planted 100 saplings and turned their school into a green zone. Along with this, they also took a pledge towards keeping their surrounding green.

With a message of 'the more the hands, the greener the planet', the students of Children's Academy conducted a plantation drive and turned their school into a greener place.

The students and staff members of R. M. Dhariwal English Medium School, Shirur-Ghodnadi, participated in a plantation drive conducted under Behtar India campaign stage 3.

RIMS Undri International School conducted a plantation drive in coordination with 'Anandvan' which was once a dumping place. Each child took the pledge to take care of the plant that they have planted. They also created awareness about tree plantation to the people on road.

Students and teachers of Mount Shivalik Public School, Jubbarhatti, Shimla, joined hands for a green and clean environment. As part of the Behtar India campaign stage 3, they planted 100 saplings and made use of waste plastic bottles to plant trees.

As part of the Behtar India campaign stage 3, the students of Modern School planted 500 saplings.

Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon firmly believes in working for the community at large and they proved it by joining hands with Behtar India campaign stage 3. The school students planted 50 saplings in school.

The students of HVB Global Academy actively participated in Behtar India Campaign. They planted 317 saplings near their school and gave the place a greener and a newer look.

The students of Educon International School participated in tree plantation drive under the Behtar India Campaign. 100 saplings and place was provided by Anandvan. Along with his, all the students took a pledge to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic waste to make India cleaner.

As part of the Behtar India campaign stage 3, the students of Army Public School along with air force officers planted 700 saplings in a park near air force station.

Seen here are the students and teachers of Dayawati Modi Meerut, who as a part of Behtar India Campaign stage 3 conducted a plantation drive in their school and planted saplings to keep the environment green.

The students and staff members of Delhi Public School, Bengaluru East turned a barren land of their school into a green spot by planting 500 saplings.

As part of the Behtar India campaign stage 3, the students of Jain Public School planted 300 flower saplings in the school premises.

The students of Vivekanand School, Anand Vihar actively participated in Behtar India campaign stage 3 and planted 500 saplings in the school.

As part of the Behtar India campaign, Sri Venkateshwar International School conducted a plantation drive. The students of the school proudly participated in the drive and planted 150 saplings and even gave a name to a sapling they planted. Along with this, the students promised to continue with such activities.

The students and teachers of The Shriram Millenium School organised a plantation drive and planted 500 saplings in a nearby park.

Seen here are the students of The Emerald Heights International School who participated in a plantation drive at Indore Cancer Foundation's Hospital premises. 1000 saplings were plnated during the plantation drive organised under Behtar India campaign.

The students of The Cathedral and John Connon Middle School planted 300 saplings in the BMC garden at Cuffe Parade. Saplings were provided by the Reliance Group and BMC.

As part of Behtar Indian campaign, South City International School not only conducted a plantation drive, but also cleaned the area by removing the unwanted plants and unused materials. Along with this, the members of interact club addressed the students and told them about the need of plantation.

"Nurture Nature" - to inculcate this value in students Sishya school in collaboration with The People's Society of Hosur headed by Mr. Prasad ,the Principal, staff and all the students of Sishya School, Hosur pitched in and prepared nearly 8000 seed balls and planted them in their school.

Sehwag International School organised a green drive in which the students of the school planted 50 saplings in the school itself.

The students of Sanjay Ghodawat International School visited Sahyadri School, Vidyamandir School, Mahatma Gandhi Junior College and six other village schools to plant tree saplings. As part of the Behtar India campaign, the students planted 600 saplings collectively.

Ryan International School, Greater Noida took an initiative for clean and green India and planted 5322 saplings in and around the school in Greater Noida and Noida. They planted medicinal, fruit, ornamental and shady trees sapling in the city.

As part of the Behtar India campaign, the students of Intelligent Cadet International School organised a plantation drive and planted 150 saplings around their school.

The students of Indirapuram Public School went to a nearby slum and planted 85 saplings with medicinal values. The students also pasted charts and posters to spread the message. Along with this, they explained the uses of different plants to the children of the slum, taking a promise from them that they will take care of it.

In support of the Behtar India campaign stage 3, DSK School, Pune procured 300 tree saplings from the forest department and organised a plantation drive. 200 saplings were planted on hill slope close to the school and 100 saplings were planted in and around the school campus.

Children's Academy Group of Schools, Mumbai, organised a plantation drive in which not only students and teachers participated but parents also. The school gifted saplings to the parents and asked them to carry out the plantation in their vicinity. Each and every little place was covered with saplings. In total 1000 saplings were planted by the school.

As part of the Behtar India campaign, Central Railway School not only conducted a plantation drive, but also developed various gardens like fruit and butterfly garden, fruit garden and ornamental gardens. Sides of playground and toilets were also beautified with plants. In total 4000 saplings were planted.

'Each one, sow one', with this motive St. Edmund's School organised a plantation drive and planted 350 saplings. The students created a nursery in the school and named it Flosery. The school also got a green certificate from Centre for Science and Environment. The school plans to carry forward this drive with alumnus.

The students of City Montessori Inter College, Aliganj, actively participated in a plantation drive organised by the school and planted saplings.

The students of Gurukul School with the help of their teachers and school gardeners turned a barren land and a garbage dump into a green area. An area behind school building got a greener look with ornamental and flowering plants.

The students and teachers of GD Goenka actively participated in Behtar India campaign. As part of the campaign, the school organised a plantation drive and planted saplings.

As part of Behtar India campaign, Gregorian Public School organised a plantation drive in which large number of students participated and planted saplings in the school.
