International Yoga Day: Navy Plans Special Yoga Sessions on Board Warships
To celebrate the first International Yoga Day on June 21, widely dispersed ships of the Navy will conduct Yoga sessions at the pre-decided local time of 7:00 AM, the exact time at which the occasion will be observed at Rajpath in New Delhi.

The Indian Navy has plans for the first International Day of Yoga by launching multiple initiatives to introduce practice of Yoga to its community and aims to do "Yoga across the oceans".

Indian Navy units located as far as the Mediterranean Sea on the West, the Western Pacific Ocean and the Southern Indian Ocean will participate in the special Yoga sessions.

Navy's action plan includes Yoga exercises during morning physical training routines in ships and establishments, activities that will be pursued in a sustained manner over the long term.

Armed forces, NCC cadets and government officials are scheduled to perform 'asanas' at Rajpath on International Yoga Day. Around 35,000 persons are expected to take part in the event.
