Lisa Ray shines in Toronto

Weeks after announcing that she has been diagnosed with cancer, actress Lisa Ray was in Toronto to promote her film Cooking With Stella.

In a recent blog post Lisa Ray spoke about finally realising that her body has 'betrayed' her. She also speaks about patients using humour to deal with cancer.

The star of Cooking With Stella is Bandit Queen actress Seema Biswas.

Cooking With Stella is a light comedy film that has been written by siblings Deepa and Dilip Mehta and is based in Canada.

Shreya Saran told NDTV's Anupama Chopra that she was initially a bit uncomfortable with the director's demand that she will wear absolutely no makeup for the film, but ultimately she found it more relaxing as she didn't have to bother about how she looked.

Seema Biswas has thus far done roles that are serious and intense, and with this film she is changing gears as it is a comedy. She told NDTV's Anupama Chopra in an interview that it is always harder to make people laugh, so the film was a challenge for her.

The director of Cooking With Stella is Dilip Mehta who has been a renowned photojournalist thus far. He is also the brother of well-know filmmaker Deepa Mehta.

Speaking about Cooking With Stella, Dilip Mehta emphasised that while the film is a comedy, at its core are some very serious issues.
